ABOUT

Learn the vital life-saving skills needed to help your pet in an emergency by joining us for our second annual Pet CPR & First Aid class on March 1st 2026 from 10am-12:30pm at the Bethel Fire Department at 36 South Street in Bethel, CT.


This training is designed for anyone with an interest in "pawtecting" the safety and wellness of canine/feline pets. The course content is delivered through a combination of lecture, demonstration, and hands-on skills practice. In this class, you'll learn some lifesaving practices to help save your pet in emergency situations:


Hands-on Skills Practice:

• Emergency Muzzling and Restraint Techniques

• Vital Signs Assessment

• CPR (Canine and Feline, all size pets)

• Choking Management (Conscious and Unconscious)

• Bleeding Control Techniques


Lecture Portion:

• Proactive Safety and Wellness for Pets

• Scene Safety/Hazard Mitigation

• Medical Emergencies (Seizures, "Bloat")

• Poisoning Emergencies

• Environmental Emergencies


Students are provided with a detailed handbook, a certificate of completion (valid for two years), and an emergency muzzle.
